Yelapa is a tropical beach paradise surrounded by the lush foothills of the Sierra Madre. It's only accessible by boat — so no cars here! An easy flight to Puerto Vallarta and a 45-minute boat ride gets you here.

Experience towing off the beach in tee shirt and shorts 2000+ feet above the bay with fantastic views of the surrounding tropical mountains, river valley and the coastline of the Bay of Banderas. If you’re lucky you’ll spot whales and giant manta rays frolicking below. You’ll land on the same beach and can relax with a swim in the ocean and the friendly hospitality of the local beach restaurants.
There are also two foot launch sites. Yelapa Tapa is a 2000 ft asl thermal site which is generally flown in the late morning, and Tapita, an afternoon walk-up (about 25 minutes) dynamic soaring site. This site is a favorite for many of us who love it for the workout.
